I shot this Feb 2017 on a Nikon D750 using the 105 macro VR. f/5.6, 1/1250.

I always loved trying to catch bees with a macro lens. This was a cloudy day giving some nice soft light around 65 F. We had some cold weather still so the blooms weren't opening up yet. The bees were out looking but they had to work for it. This one was trying to dig down into the flower and you can see some pollen stuck on the side. I had to shoot a lot to get this shot. I had to pick one of the nicer looking flowers and wait for the bees to come around. Its hard chasing them when using macro. If you get too close they fly away.
