This image of a martial eagle was taken on safari in South Africa. The sun was setting and it was a bit hazy. Luckily the eagle decided to land in a very photogenic tree. The soft backlighting completes this photo.
It was taken on a Canon eos 7D mark II with an EF 100-400mm f5.6.

My favourite raptor. a Majestic predator. I travel 1200 km's just to be able to photograph these birds. Lovely shot.
Yes, it's an amazing raptor. It was very high on the list of birds I wanted to see in South Africa.
