Shot on the Fujifilm GFX 100S II. I had just picked up the GF 500mm and was eager to get out for some test shots. I loaded up and drove an hour into the mountains. It was snowing, the sky was dark and muted, I questioned why I was trudging into the woods in freshly fallen, waist deep snow. It was so quiet, so still. No animals, no grand mountain peaks poking through the clouds, no dramatic skies. Only the resilience of the deep forest. I was left with a deep impression of nature's profound subtlety, and this photo.
