I was photographing macro subjects when I spotted a Great blue Heron hunting for food along the river bank. When I got closer it jumped up from the tall grass and took flight. I had my Nikon zf with me with the 100-400mm lens attached. As the bird passed me I was able to grab a few frames. I love the soft morning light in this image. Edited in Lightroom, basic edit with a vignette mask.

What a great capture. I am not a wildlife guy (no patience) but when I see work like this it makes me want to. Fantastic!
