This was the only spot on the Big Sur coast where you could even see the waves through thick fog. I was scouting on my own before the start of a workshop. As my instructor would later note and point out to the class, I should have shot it at a faster speed than 1/160, but I was far enough away to retain some detail in the wave. It was the only big wave I saw during the December week-long workshop.
