Doubtful Sound New Zealand is often overcast or raining. On an overnight trip, I took this image near sunset looking towards the western end of the sound on an overcast evening. It had been windy all day but the wind and waves had dropped and the evening light gave a sense of calm. The soft light gave some reflection of color to the shadows on each side and the various headlands of the fjord. Other versions of this photo have a large, yellow mooring buoy and obey the rule of thirds but I like this one for the serenity. Image was processed slightly for noise and contrast in Photoshop. Camera was a Nikon Z6ii with the Nikkor 40mm, f2 lens at 1/160 sec, ISO 500.
