I took this photo on a late summer morning at Lake Ammersee. I wanted to capture exactly this kind of atmosphere for this location and had been checking my special weather app for photographers for days in advance. Furthermore, from a visit to the location before the planned day of the shoot, I knew that the main jetty was undergoing partial renovation, which could provide another interesting element for the image.
To capture the viewer's moment, I positioned the camera very low on my tripod that morning, close to the stones. I also used the stones as a guideline for the image.
I balanced the sky and foreground with a Kase ND 0.9 graduated filter, and I also used a Kase polarizing filter to control the reflection. Then I waited for the right moment and pressed the shutter button on my Nikon Z6.
I edited the image in Lightroom, adjusting highlights, shadows, contrast, and sharpness.
