Her & the Sea I/II

This is part one of a two-part series. The original idea came from a story I've had in my head for a while, in which a young woman falls in love with the ocean through the sounds and voices from a large seashell. In the end, her love for this force of nature becomes her demise as she is swept away by the raging waves.

Shot with two large octaboxes—one placed camera right and the other on the camera axis for fill. I deliberately lifted the shadows quite a bit to create a light and airy feel.

I shot the seashells later in my apartment, trying to match the shadow intensity as closely as possible.

I'm hoping to continue the story as a shortfilm in the future.
