What you are looking at is a very soft sunset light illuminating a subject not commonly seen in contemporary photography – a fragment of a cement plant. Thankfully, Bernd and Hilla Becher didn’t point their large-format cameras at any cement plants, leaving me a chance to create something original. This particular cement plant belongs to Heidelberg Materials and is located in the town of Calusco d'Adda, Italy. That evening, the light was fantastic, and I managed to capture an entire series of photos of this plant. Taken with a Nikon D850 and a Sigma Art 135mm lens, processed in Lightroom.
