This is the Iris nebula, NGC 7023, located approximately 1,300 light years away and is a reflection nebula. I shot this from my backyard under a semi-dark sky in September. I love the color of blue in it. I am continually amazed at what we can capture with cameras and this image marries a love of photography extremes (I am also a macro photographer) with a love of space. It was a challenging image to take and then process but is one of my favorites from 2025.
