“Autumn Japanese Maple” – British Columbia, Canada
I visited this spot a few times chasing the perfect autumn moment. Each attempt had something off, like rain, people wandering through, or the leaves not quite at peak colour. I finally managed to grab this shot just before the heavy rains came and wiped the branches clean. The angles here are pretty limited, so this was the strongest composition based on what I could keep out of frame. I used a long exposure to soften the water in the background. The conditions change every year, so I know I’ll be back again.
