During my first visit to the N. Rim of the Grand Canyon in June of 2025, I discovered there was a backcountry camp site at Cape Final. Twenty days later was the next MW window, so I booked two nights. There is nothing quite like staying up until midnight shooting the Milky Way over the Grand Canyon and unzipping the tent fly to see that majestic view in the morning. Ten days later, the Dragon Bravo fire started. In this shot, the light pollution from Flagstaff helps illuminate the San Francisco Peaks. Shot with Sony A1. One long exposure of 8 minutes f/2.8, ISO 1600 at 16mm for the foreground and five stacked and tracked sky images shot at f/2.8, ISO 1600, 149 seconds processed in LrC, StarryLandscapeStacker, PS, and StarXterminator.
