Visiting Turkey I had the opportunity to take a hot air balloon above and around the area of Cappadocia. There were probably 200 other balloons in the sky which all took to flight around 4:00 am. From the ground Cappadocia is surreal but from the air it took it to the next level. I actually have a metal print of this in my home in Oregon.
It gets my vote for the most interesting balloon ride on the planet.
When traveling I no longer bring tons of heavy camera equipment but now prefer to bring a Sony rx100 and Sony rx10. Both with a 20mb 1" sensor and Zeiss optics give me a nice compromise of lightweight gear and good image quality.
