NM Vase and Flowers
Canon R5; 100-500mm RF lens; 1/200 sec at f/8.0; 135mm at ISO 1250
Captured at the Randall Audubon Center near Santa Fe, I was attracted to this arrangement of soft roses and wild greenery in a simple vase. The vase and flowers were outdoors, on a brick floor against an adobe wall. The muted tones, with a splash of orange in the roses, capture the subtle, organic color palette I find so pleasing in this area. I had this image printed, framed it, and gave it as a gift. It works as large print because it fits well in a variety of room settings, enhancing the overall décor while inviting the viewer to examine the textures and details more closely. The primary challenge was ‘seeing’ this image, since I was there primarily to walk the trails and photograph wildlife. I was fortunate to find it at a time of day when the sun gave adequate light without being harsh.
