I live on a small island (Shelter Island, NY) and we have a local airstrip, as the island can only be reached by ferry or plane/helicopter. This past year we had a local gathering of pilots who came to display their aircraft and have some BBQ. When a plane would land, it was directed to a specific area to park. This was my favorite plane of the show!
This was shot handheld with:
Nikon d850 w/ Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens
Manual Mode: 70mm f4 1/640 of a second ISO 90
Due to the imagery, I would imagine that it would be welcome in the homes of aviators and B&W enthusiasts. I also think that it is "neutral" enough that others would display it as well.
Perhaps the hardest thing to capture this image is that the propeller is chrome and it was a challenge to capture it without the sun or people walking past it while I was clicking the shutter. You can see me towards the right of the center of the prop, as I took the photo!
