Shot on the Sony A7IV paired with the Sony 200-600m @600mm. Settings were ISO 500, f/6.3, 1/500.
Edited in Capture One.
This was in Mana Pools National Park, Zimbabwe last year.
It was early morning and sun had just risen. I had to get out of the car to get as close as I was allowed to. I was trying to get a close-up portrait but the final image was a lot wider than this.
Thankfully I recently upgraded from the A7Siii to the A7iV for photos, so the extra megapixels allowed me to crop considerably. The final image ended up being about 10 megapixels from the original 33 (note that this image is a lower res version for web).
I’ve always wanted to get a Lion portrait, and I think I would be happy with this one on the wall.
