This photo is untouched. I shoot in RAW & JPEG.
On March 7, 2026, the USS Nimitz CVN-68 was getting underway for her final voyage.
I have served in the US Navy for 21 years in Deck Department, although, I have never sailed onboard a US Navy Aircraft Carrier I have operated alongside them (and a lot of them) sending supplies and fuel to them ready during day OR night, rain or shine, cold or hot.
This is one of the last Naval Ships that is still sailing during my time in the US Navy. I have served on a lot of ships, in many different capacities, whether they were supply ships, amphibious ships, small boats, you name it I got to do it.
After she reaches her final destination, the Shipyard will defuel her, and prepare to lay her to rest, which will bring my Naval History to a close, after that, there are no more active ships that I have had the opportunity to serve.
This shot was captured at 6:48 am during blue hour with a Canon R-5 at 637mm f/9 1/500 sec ISO 25600, no edits in any program, straight from the camera.
