Canon is Facebook Ready? New Camera Connects Directly with Social Network

Following in the footsteps of Samsung who have the convenient "Share" button on their cameras, Canon has updated their tiny point-and-shoot with a feature they think fits right to the audience looking at a camera of this class: an built in Facebook share button. Canon is Facebook ready... are you? As Canon states: "To address the popular trend of instantly sharing photos and videos with family and friends... Canon today announced a new version of its uniquely designed PowerShot N digital camera - the PowerShot N Facebook ready digital camera. A Canon Direct exclusive, the PowerShot N Facebook ready digital camera features a convenient Facebook Connect Button that supports instant sharing of crisp, clear images and videos to users' Facebook accounts."

The camera doesn't have any other differences from the original N besides this new button. Them adding it now feels like they got this past production before they realized a quick-share button was a good idea. "To make sure users can instantly share photos and videos with family and friends, the PowerShot N Facebook ready digital camera now features a convenient Facebook Connect Button. After an initial one-time set-up, pressing the new Facebook Connect Button links the camera to the users' Facebook account for quick and easy sharing. Users can also control the destination of their Facebook uploads by choosing to share content with everyone, or to select Facebook groups."

The N was appealing to me when it was first announced because of it's incredibly small size. That said, I didn't buy one but have recommended it. I'm not sure if this new feature will make me recommend it more, but it's certainly not bad having it tacked on. What do you think? Does adding a feature like this to a camera make it more desirable?

IM sure FStopper does a Background check.

Yeah this is directly off CanonUSA.com...

I think it would be a failure to not have some sort of internet social interaction feature built in to a consumer camera now-a days.

I guess Samsung is the new market leader when it comes to cameras and phones.
