Introducing the Osmo Mobile 8, the latest addition to DJI’s mobile gimbal series, designed to expand creative possibilities for smartphone filmmakers. Designed to support a wider range of filming scenarios, the Osmo Mobile 8 introduces 360 ° Pan Rotation for smooth panoramic shots, an ultra-comfortable grip for low-angle filming, and—for the first time—intelligent tracking of cats and dogs.

The Osmo Mobile 8 now offers three different subject-tracking methods: ActiveTrack 7.0 in the DJI Mimo app; the Multifunctional Module that supports cat and dog tracking; and, for iPhone users, Apple DockKit, Apple’s advanced subject-tracking technology. This enables seamless subject tracking within the iPhone’s native camera app and across more than 200 compatible iOS applications.

Other than adding support for pet tracking, DJI has also upgraded the Multifunctional Module, improving its integrated lighting capabilities and adding intuitive indicator lights to make tracking status clearer.

In addition to these new innovations, the Osmo Mobile 8 retains many of the hallmark features loved by fans of the Osmo Mobile 7 series, including:

  • DJI’s seventh-generation stabilization for cinematic-quality smartphone footage

  • Up to 10 hours of operating time

  • Built-in extension rod and tripod for versatile shooting setups

  • Intelligent tracking, high-quality audio capture, and adjustable lighting for transforming any space into a personal studio

  • Compatibility with the DJI Mic 2, DJI Mic 3, and DJI Mic Mini transmitter, ensuring immersive, crystal-clear sound

With these updates, the Osmo Mobile 8 continues to push the boundaries of smartphone filmmaking, offering creators a powerful, portable, and intuitive tool to capture their stories from any angle. The Osmo Mobile 8 is available to order today from store.dji.com, but it will not be available officially in the U.S. market for the time being. DJI remains committed to the U.S. market and is optimizing its strategy to best serve customers amid evolving local conditions.
