Everything You Need to Know to Set Up Your Sony a7 IV

Modern digital cameras are incredibly complex machines, and to really get the most out of their capabilities, you need to understand their underlying menu structure and how to tweak it to your specific needs and style of shooting. Perhaps no menu system is more complex than Sony's, but this fantastically comprehensive video walkthrough will show you everything you need to know to get your a7 IV up and running exactly how you like it.

Coming to you from Wes Perry, this great video will show you the ins and outs of the Sony a7 IV's entire menu structure. It can seem like a boring thing to sit down with your camera for an hour and carefully go through every minutia in the menu system, and sure, it is not that exciting, but it is crucial for two reasons. First, modern cameras are highly customizable but are normally set to generalist defaults to please everyone, and you can possibly significantly impact your shooting success by changing those settings (especially when it comes to autofocus). Second, learning the menu structure will make you more familiar and confident with your camera, and you may even discover functions you didn't know it had. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Perry.
