Earlier today, TechRadar accidentally listed the full specifications for the new Panasonic Lumix GH5S, which were immediately taken down. Luckily, the Internet saw them, and it looks like quite the exciting camera.
TechRadar states some of the most notable changes and upgrades from the Panasonic Lumix GH5 are:
- A new 10.2-megapixel "multi-aspect sensor" with 4:3, 17:9, 16:9, and 3:2 aspect ratios
- 60/50p internal recording in Cinema 4K (4096 x 2160) with 4:2:2 10-bit with V-Log preinstalled
- Dual Native ISO
- 225 AF points with improved focusing down to -5 EV and a max ISO of 51,200
Finally, Techradar has stated the MSRP for the Panasonic Lumix GH5S will be priced at $2,499/£2,199 (body only) and availability will be at the end of January. You can take a look at the web cache page on Techradar to read the full listing of information on the new Panasonic GH5S.

There are strong rumours that this won't have IBIS, which to me was one of the main selling points of the Sony ASii / Panasonic GH5 bodies. I really hope that rumour to be proven wrong. I don't want to choose between low-light capability and hand-held shooting; I want both!
This was a massive bummer to me. It's better camera in every way but it's removing the best feature (for our style of shooting). For big budget guys, they have time to slow down and rarely shoot handheld. It's great for them... If they need something really small.
I agree! The gh5 has allowed me to go handheld so much more than any other camera which has been amazing. Saves set up time and allows us to get the shot we need. I can't wait to see if it has clean ISO to 3200 which will be great, but the one thing I hope they improve is the auto focusing. Maybe with less pixels it will autofocus better but who knows :). Either way I am just happy they are pushing the tech forward and not waiting so long to release a new camera.
While I hope it has IBIS, that dual native ISO is awesome.
I kind of like how hey said screw it and lowered the MP count. Seems Iike they’re acknowledging that this camera is video-centric rather than compromise its capabilities to appease stills shooters.
Yes, I don't care at all about MP. Plus 10MP is plenty for most of the images I take too, if it's clean. The A7s is still great for pictures even though it was made with video in mind.
Yes, most people bought the GH5 for video anyway. Makes sense to propose the GH5s as a mini EVA1 video camera (or EVA B cam) and lower the MP count. There are plenty of M43 alternatives for photography with Olympus bodies and the Lumix G9.
from my understanding, lower MP usually equates to less noise and better high iso performance.
This is true at a per-pixel level, but if you're downsampling a higher pixel count image (or video) to a lower standard anyway, the difference is negligible.
You know there’s no such thing as an “accidental leak”. :)
