Sigma has announced the 20-200mm f/3.5–6.3 DG DN | Contemporary, a 10x zoom lens designed for full frame mirrorless cameras. It will be available in Sony E-mount and L-Mount, preorder available today.
The lens is notable as the first full frame zoom to offer a 20mm starting focal length with a 10x range extending to 200mm. Sigma positions it as an all-in-one option that balances portability with versatility, aimed at photographers who want a single lens capable of handling landscapes, portraits, travel, and close-ups.
Autofocus is driven by Sigma’s High-response Linear Actuator (HLA) motor, designed for speed and precision. The lens also includes features such as dust and splash resistance, a water- and oil-repellent front element coating, and a zoom lock switch at the wide end. For L-Mount versions, the focus ring can be set to either linear or non-linear response depending on the camera body.
Close-up performance is another highlight, with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2 at focal lengths between 28–85mm and 1:3.3 at 200mm. The minimum focusing distance is 16.5 cm at the wide end.
Despite its broad zoom range, the lens is compact, measuring 115.5 mm in length and weighing 550 g. It uses a 72 mm front filter thread.
