What You Should Do When You Get a New Camera

Getting a new camera is super exciting, but before you dive into it, there are some things you will want to do to make sure you get the best possible experience. This helpful video tutorial will guide you through how to make sure your new camera is ready to go.

Coming to you from Tyler Stalman, this great video tutorial discusses all the things you should do with a new camera to make sure it is set up properly. Two things that are often overlooked but quite important are reading the manual and adding your new camera to your insurance. Modern cameras are highly advanced and nuanced machines, and it is not always obvious how much they can do. I am not saying you have to closely read every last sentence in that 400-page behemoth manual, but it is worth at least skimming; I have definitely found a few features I did not know existed by looking through my manuals. And of course, if you have an insurance policy for your gear, do not forget to add your new camera! The worst feeling is having an accident and realizing it is not insured. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Stalman.
