Dive Bomber - Kingfisher

Man, I tell you what...shooting birds for photography...what a challenge...I like going down to the bird sancturary and watch the birds fly in, there is this one Kingfisher, every afternoon who feeds on shrimp and crab when the tide is out, I am telling you, this little guy is fast. He takes off, normally, free falling then he zeros in on his target in the water, which he is doing in photo # 1 and when he has his target in sight, he just becomes a speeding bullet which is in photo # 2...

It's fun, but boy do you have to be ready to take that photo.

This image was done in late 1980s on Polaroid's instant slide film Polapan - a prefect film for beauty and boudoir photography as skin tones were rendered silky.
