This image was taken close to noon hours. Yet due to good location did not face harsh light reasonably.
COLOUR: Processed in LR. Tried keeping the tonality and contrast balanced at my opinion.
BW1: Processed to histogram. Kept sky and water a tone lower to enhance the urbanscape.
BW2. Darkened the sky enhancing clouds as point of interest. Even reduced the water grey tones.
Looked to work for Red, G and B filters in LR but could not do it. Anyone familiar may please indicate.
Images Open for any and all discussions. Thanks.
While I like how much impact the sky has in the third image, I feel like it's stealing attention away from the city, since the buildings aren't quite as "intense", in terms of processing.
I'm personally not really big on this location, in terms of composition, as the park in the foreground is sort of blocking the city, and battling for domination of the frame, with the ocean on the left. I think if you had a longer lens, you could have captured a neat moment, with the person walking along the trail, with the towers behind them. All that being said, I could see the top one being printed and hung in a local restaurant or cafe, as I feel it captures the "feeling" of Vancouver quite well. (nature, boats, city, and joggers... so, so many joggers).
Also, unrelated, I'm actually heading back to Vancouver for a few days, and I certainly hope I get conditions like this.
Hi Jordan, appreciate your opinion.
For the time of day and light condition, this was a good possibility along the way. Near noon, less walkers and had to wait for some time for someone to pass. Wanted to have introduction of greenery along with all other elements of the city. yes, can experiment with the extent and composition of all these elements next time with planning and lot of time.
Thanks.
