Just before the March door closes on our window theme, I thought I'd add some I found deep in the archives of my PC.
These were taken back in 2018 when on a trip to Boston. All feature windows, set in a facade of mirrored glass.
I'd love to hear the thoughts of others on these, by way of healthy discussion. I have a thick skin, so please feel free to let us here your voice.
Looks like Typology to me. ๐
Your reflections are great compositions and reflect upon your theme perfectly.
One and Three are very similar and I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite.
The foliage in the second (and BnW) is a sharp contrast the the other three.
For myself, Four is my favorite! Minimalist. I like the angle of the open window in this shot and the reflection that isn't a complete subject change as in One, Two, or Three.
Thanks Dean. I'll take your word on the Typology reference as that is beyond my comprehension.
The foliage in #3 is actually a reflection in more glass. I was unable to make this work in color but may try again as there's a figure behind the open window I'd like to draw attention to.
Now, I see (and observe) the foliage variance.
"In photography, typology involves creating a series of images that document and classify types of subjects, often presented in a consistent and repetitive manner, like a grid, to highlight commonalities and variations."

All of them are great.
My favourite is the fourth as well, the repetition/pattern of the sky is wonderful and as Dean put it, the continuity in comparison to the others is hmm relaxing?
I could see someone saying the opposite as well tho.
Thanks Jose - itโs great to hear your perspective (and thanks for your kind feedback).
Each one of these stand well on their own. I'm not sure how I feel about the second one that includes the foliage - trying to tell a story in my mind, but not coming up with anything. I love the colors in the 1, 3, & 4, and the slightly open window is perfect. Nice work on these, Alan.
Thanks PG. I agree and think the 2nd need to be worked differently.
I actually have a number of images without, but like what the open windows provide to the composition.
