Dean Wilson's picture

Golden Hour Reflections at the Marsh (Pseudo-Minimalist)

My intent was a minimalist of the grasses at Bandon Marsh Wildlife Refuge Area, but there is SO MUCH going on the photo that I think it might break the Heal tool if I tried to clean it up.

There was a weekly challenge in a FB group using the mandatory setting of f/11 and 1/125 and the rest was up to you.

R5 w/100-500
f/11 ~ 1/125 ~ ISO 160 ~ +0.7 step Exposure Bias ~ 325mm

Lovely image Dean, although I would go ahead as you infer and remove the major blemishes.

The composition almost looks like words written on textured paper. I think it would look so much nicer cleaned up.

Nice job, Dean! I'd still call this minimalist. Just for fun, I cleaned it up, including the stems at bottom right crossing the picture borders, and then the composition looked unbalanced, with a "hole" at bottom right. Maybe leaving some in is the best compromise, or maybe others think the curving one crossing two borders should stay as well. What do others think? (I didn't want to crop and reframe the whole image.)

The top one is that I am think of as a "final" image.

Wonderful job Chris, the first image is a real eye-catcher.

Whilst I agree on the slight imbalance, I don't find it too much of a concern. Otherwise the image could possibly be cropped a little tighter.....

just to Show my view point. A lot can be done and need to be done,

I like this one best, Vijay. Much more minimalistic.
