As I sat in the window of a local coffee shop trying to get warmth back in my hands (after shooting on the street) I decided to play a bit.
This is the result of trying to catch folks on the street as they walked in front of the store window.
Panning proved to be a lot more difficult than the other technique (what I am calling followICM) I have been trying to work on. While results aren't anything special I thought I'd share just so others can imagine results.
All images taken hand-held with my iPhone (15).
Nice.
I really need to try that.
That's a great beginning idea for those of us who are a bit shy of taking pictures of people on the street. Thanks, Alan! Did you end up getting anymore FollowICM in snow?
I tried during a snowshoe outing last Monday, but there wasn't much on offer. Trails are closing down and the only skiers I came across were the trail owners.
I did get a couple of shots though, and one in the supermarket afterward that I'm pretty happy with :-)
Too bad ... in that third picture it's almost as if that cloud in the upper left is in the process of mimicking the tree - you can almost feel the motion of it in the middle of forming ... that last grocery store image works really well. I like the effect of the doors on the sides. Good job!
Thanks Jenny. I have to say that with an amount of trial and error I am starting to see what works with the process and recognized the potential of the freezer aisle (ie converging lines).
All you need to do is shop and hover around someone in a bright red coat hoping they head down the right aisles - who said grocery shopping can't be fun?
