Frames interview

Sorry for yet another announcement, but I wanted you guys (as my peeps) to be aware of this before going public.

I was recently interviewed by the editor of FRAMES magazine as part of their 'Conversation' series, this being released yesterday.

Feeling a bit of an imposter, but I have to say it's rewarding to have the interest in my work.

Watch if you wish, as I hate being in front of the camera I make no apologies for the quality of the conversation.

Excellent well done

Good on you, Alan. For anyone familiar with your work, the influence from, and interest in ICP is obvious. Yet, despite the critical commentary from many, directed at the genre itself, you champion your passion and this comes through in your work and ambassadorship of the movement. The way you keep this sub-community going is a microcosm of your dedication.

Above all, it's a great reminder that (in any category), when one understands the rules, it's much easier to break them.

Thanks Robert.
I can fully understand those who do not see the attraction of ICM and/or other creative techniques, we all have our own like/dislikes that drive us through our day to day lives.

That is not to say I don't both appreciate and enjoy many other genres. I tend to predominantly post work that I feel provides viewers something a little different in their day, but I am active in shooting street/minimal/landscape photography etc as situations dictate.

I'd rather be behind a camera instead of in front of one. Off to YouTube....

Me too Dean, me too. This was just an opportunity too good to pass up.

This is a really good interview, Alan. I appreciated the conversation (and the accents were enjoyable too Lol). Now that I've gotten a reasonable understanding of the rules, I'm starting to see how to creatively bend them. Your guides and work have been really helpful in experimenting and appreciated!

Thanks for watching and for your kind words Jenny.

The most rewarding result of this has been a number of people reaching out and letting me know that they have been inspired to experiment further themselves.
