Dark Inspirations Critique

In 2014 on one of my movie weekends I seen the Ouija movie post in the soon to come movie section. The photo was a very grungy low-key photo and instantly I was in love with the poster. I had an ouija board I bought a few years ago sitting in storage and wanted to try my hand at recreating the photo but with a little of my style.

After shooting the verticle image like they had done I tried a horizontal image, leaving lots of negative space to add mystery to the image. I had received a quick critique about this image from the photographer Greg Gorman who came to my college for an art show, but I would love more some more critiques of this image.

Lighting was simple, 1 studio strobe with a 20 or 30-degree grid on camera left and that is all.

Thanks for any advice or options!

Paige's booth portrait

Recently, I taught an Off Camera Flash class. Paige was my model for the class. We were outdoors but it started to rain. Luckily, a nearby restaurant let us conduct the class in their dining room.
