Hello, everyone.
This was my first attempt at beauty photography. I know I need more practice but I think it turned out pretty well. Skin retouching for beauty is still something I am learning. I will definitely be posting more attempts soon.
Feel free to let me know what you think.
You did an amazing job!!
Thank you!
HI Morgan. Looks good! I think how people shoot and retouch is based on personal preference (of the client/subject and the photographer). If it were me, I would use frequency separation to blend the skin and remove some of the splotchiness but keep the texture. That just my style though. I'm not generally a huge fan of the porcelain doll look since no one actually looks that way.
I think the lighting is nice and I like the use of the blue background since usually you see white, black, or gray.
Thank you, I appreciate it. I'll definitely try that one the next shoot.
Hey Morgan, i think it's a really nice start. I like the fact that it's not overly perfect.
As Sean said, this is a field based on personal and client preferences, but there are a lot of trends as well.
We are seeing a huge shift away from frequency separation to a skin that is very natural.
This will take some time for people outside the industry to get used to but it might be interesting to check Mert and Marcus latest work for Vogue Italy
Good luck!
