Vintage Lens
Another visit to our garden using a vintage lens (Canon FD 50mm f/1.4) on my Canon R5.
"Reaching" - 'Sambucus nigra', as my wife calls it, or Black Lace Elderberry for the rest of us.
Any interest in this group?
Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?
Vintage Lenses
I thought I would try out my 50 year old lenses: Canon FD 50mm f/1.5 SSC and Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 on my Canon R5 with the use of the appropriate adapter.

I like all the shot poses. My one complaint is the light bouncing off of the skin. To much glare washing out the skin tones. #3 is the best.
I clicked send to fast. In #3 you have to change the angle of the shot to avoid the eye glasses refraction. Hard to do but if you don't if affects the client.
thank you for your input. I see the refraction that you talking about. I'll be more mindful of that in the future.
Couple things I'd consider for the these, especially with the woman. She's definitely overexposed. Also, you're broad lighting her, which makes her face look wider. Try putting the light to camera left her which will put a shadow on the side of her face that is facing camera (her left cheek). She's pulling her chin back, which makes her look jowls look even more jowly. Peter Hurley has a great video on creating a strong jaw line by extending your forehead out and down. I think this would help her a lot. Last, your background is not lit evenly. See how it's going to grey at the bottom? You can fix this in post or put the light further from the backdrop and bump up the power a bit. Hope this helps!
