Vintage Lens
Another visit to our garden using a vintage lens (Canon FD 50mm f/1.4) on my Canon R5.
"Reaching" - 'Sambucus nigra', as my wife calls it, or Black Lace Elderberry for the rest of us.
Any interest in this group?
Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?
Vintage Lenses
I thought I would try out my 50 year old lenses: Canon FD 50mm f/1.5 SSC and Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 on my Canon R5 with the use of the appropriate adapter.

Hi Vincent. Nice construction in the image. You're obviously thinking a fair bit about setting the scene well. I wonder if having about a third of a stop more light on your sitter would help give the image an overall lift...and draw our eyes to his. The brightest here is the sky which tends to pull the eyes away. A big softbox or reflector might do the trick. Regards
Greg
p.s. Would be keen to hear other's thoughts too.
Thanks, Greg. And I agree- Bill's eyes are in shadow, as well as his neck, etc.
This was a Friday night, after work, "Bill, do you want to get some shots in?" impromptu session that I tried to get in before the went down. I had no flash or reflectors with me. The sun was setting to his right and we were in TriBeCa scoping out some decent architecture without trying to get in the way of traffic. Lol.
FWIW, I try to keep any post to a minimum to keep it true to the scene- I'll try to get it right in-camera, or the shot won't see the light of day. As for the setting, I'm working on composition and environmental portraits.
And thank you, very good points Greg. Something to be mindful of at all times.
