Like Watching Paint Dry

Latex paint takes about 1-2 hours to dry and it was faster than taking this image!

There were two false starts with the first being mother nature tossing an extreme light breeze, but luckily I felt it on my arm and had a chance for an immediate do-over. The second false start was user error. I took 100 images but there were not enough images to have the entire flower in focus.... so back outside for another try. The third, and final, attempt I chose to take 300 images and choose which would be the final shot.

The photo is 190 stacked images that took 40 minutes and 50 seconds to stack.

The flower is a Lantana and is just under 3/8" (9mm) and you can see the bud and flower in full bloom in the second image.

I hope this answers your question Photo Girl

That is a very symmetrical and colorful macro with a lot of graphical content! Very well done! Thank you for giving insight about the what in the 2nd shot.

WOW! This is wonderful! I love the symmetry and colors. Great idea to post the scale image. This was a good post, and I enjoyed it!

300 images!!! wow. But worth it, great shot! Beautiful colors.

Great result Dean, and just reward for your perseverance.
It’s amazing that the flower remained so still for such a long period.

Needs Work!

I see these comments on many photos - BTW - those who are putting comments like "Needs Work" should elaborate to say what is needed according to them.
