A Beginner's Guide to Setting Up Your Camera for Landscape Photography

The neat thing about landscape photography is that you can create a wide variety of different photographs of the same frame simply by varying your camera settings. If you are new to the genre and want to know how to set yourself up to create the best possible images, check out this fantastic video tutorial that will show you everything you need to know to prepare your camera to take a shot.

Coming to you from Andy Mumford, this great video tutorial will show you how to set up your camera for taking landscape photographs. By far, the most crucial thing you should get in the habit of doing immediately is shooting in raw. While you do not necessarily have to edit your photos significantly, landscape photographers often like to push their files quite a bit, particularly since such scenes often have a very wide dynamic range and modern sensors have a lot of post-processing latitude that will allow you to bring shadows up quite a bit without a significant image quality penalty. However, to get that latitude, you need to be shooting in raw. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Mumford.
