Helpful Tips for Better Waterfall Photography

Waterfalls are some of the most popular subjects in landscape photography, offering a great way to add a sense of drama and motion to an otherwise still scene. They require some special considerations and techniques to maximize the quality of your images, though. This excellent video tutorial will show you a range of great tips sure to help you take better waterfall photos. 

Coming to you from Photo Tom, this great video tutorial will show you some helpful advice for taking compelling waterfall photos. One of the best things I learned about taking waterfall photos is to not be afraid to get close (minding your safety, of course). You might think that you need tall waterfalls to create dramatic images, but if you pay attention to your perspective, even those just a couple of feet tall can appear imposing in an image. This has served me well living in Ohio, where we have plenty of small creeks, but few particularly tall waterfalls, meaning one has to be a bit creative. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
