A common technique is to take multiple exposures and blend them in post, and this awesome video tutorial will show you how to do it quickly and easily using the Lighten blending mode in Photoshop.
Coming to you from Blake Rudis with f64 Academy, this great video tutorial will show you how to use the Lighten blending mode in Photoshop for blending landscape images taken at different times of day. As you will see in the video, it is about more than simply dealing with a large dynamic range. Rudis is also trying to capture good light on all the different elements of the frame. That being said, it's important not to go overboard with this, say, by blending vastly different times of day, as it will become plainly obvious that the final composite is fake.
