Lightroom's masking features recently got a huge upgrade, and they have enabled some new capabilities that truly make working on your images far easier and more efficient. I have been really impressed by the new panel so far, and it has already had a noticeable impact on both my image quality and editing efficiency. For example, I shoot a lot of concert photography, and I like to put a mild radial filter around the subject to give a bit more focus to them. This works fine, though it is not perfect, since it catches a little of the background around them. I just edited a set, and instead of the radial filter, I used the new "Select Subject" tool. It picked up the subject perfectly 98% of the time, and I was able to quickly and easily dial in precise emphasis on them without the bleed-over characteristic of the radial filter. Sadly, there's no way to force the new sky and subject masks to be "auto-computed" during a paste-from-previous. That means several extra clicks per mask, per image. Adobe, we need this workflow feature!
