As you travel south along the Ligurian coast from the Cinque Terre, this dramatic view is the end of the journey. Behind the cliffs lies the charming fishing village of Porto Venere, which has been sheltered from the waves for centuries, if not millennia. It’s not one of the five towns of the Cinque Terre, but it’s just as cosy and worth a zigzag road trip down the peninsula from the large port of La Spezia.
