They call it the little Jerusalem of the Tuscan Maremma. Pitigliano is a town in Grosseto, the southernmost province of Tuscany, where the ancient Jewish quarter is perched on a tuff cliff overlooking the valley. Legend has it that the town was founded by two Romans, Petilio and Celiano, and over the years was merged to form Pitigliano.
