García López de Cárdenas is credited with the first European discovery of the Grand Canyon in 1540, though Indigenous peoples had lived in the area for thousands of years prior. He was dispatched by Francisco Vázquez de Coronado to find the Colorado River and was guided to the canyon's South Rim by Hopi people.
The first American to reach the Grand Canyon was James O. Pattie, who traveled along its rim in 1826. However, John Wesley Powell is considered the first American to successfully navigate the entire length of the canyon by river in 1869, a journey that brought the Grand Canyon to national attention and helped him name it.

The sunset was jaw dropping and unreal! Seeing it felt existence of God!From the inception the way this mighty mountain allured people still it allured me, probably it will impress the people till the end!
