. . . posed for a photo during a short break on a levada trail. These little birds are surprisingly tame – a few breadcrumbs are all it takes for them to reveal their photogenic side. With an alert gaze and a slightly tilted head, this one seems to be fully aware of the moment being photographed.
I like the image because of its calm and soft background which focuses the viewer's attention entirely on the finely detailed plumage and the bird's lively presence.
