This shot was taken in an autumn forest in early November at 8:50 a.m. A light, natural mist hung between the trees, lending the scene a calm, almost fairytale-like atmosphere.
My Panasonic LUMIX GX80 can be configured to save RAW and JPEG files simultaneously. This allows a creative effect to be applied to the JPEG file while preserving the unfiltered RAW original.
For the JPEG version of this shot, I chose the camera's built-in "Soft Focus" Creative Control effect.
I deliberately chose this mode because the gentle softening effect perfectly complemented the existing mist and the quiet atmosphere of the morning forest. The soft morning light, the autumn colors, and the green of the moss-covered branches matched the mood I felt at that moment.
Post-processing of the out-of-camera JPEG in jpg-Illuminator was limited to a slight adjustment of color vibrancy, a subtle vignette, and the addition of the frame. No noise reduction, no sharpening.
