Every year, at the end of the World Ijtema in Dhaka, Bangladesh, millions of Muslim devotees return home by train. The sheer volume of people trying to board the trains is both intense and fascinating to witness. In the frenzy, bizarre scenes often unfold—countless individuals run toward moving trains, clinging to doors, roofs, and even windows. A young boy was climbing between two train coaches, balancing precariously in the narrow gap. As he struggled upward, our eyes met for a brief second. In that fleeting moment, time seemed to stand still. His gaze carried a mixture of courage, uncertainty, and determination far beyond his years. To me, it became an unforgettable symbol of determination, survival, and the lengths people will go to reach home.
