[News] Nikon Trade Show Van Stolen, $150 000 Of Gear Inside

In a scene I can only imagine making an amazing Hollywood heist movie (especially for camera nerds), it seems the official Nikon trade show van has been stolen in Dublin, Ireland. At this point there are few details available as far as how the robbery went down. It does seem like the thieves knew what they were getting though.

Inside the van? Oh, just $150 000 worth of camera gear, including the yet to be released D800 and D4. Nikon has released serial numbers for all the missing gear and are asking for help relocating the goods. The full list is available below. If you live in the area and do come across any of these items please contact the local police department.

Ouch!  That 600 f/4 alone goes for $10k

Look at the plus side......at least they stole quality gear.  Last thing we need is MORE Canon stuff floating around the black market!  :)

so bad was it was nikon gear no one uses that stuff anymore, next time tell them where is the canon booth

What I heard was that when the stolen van reached it's drop off point at the docks, it went through the gates so fast they needed a photo finish......... no, oh god im so sorry everyone... I'll just slowly back away now!
