Five Unusual and Perhaps Innovative Camera Designs

Five Unusual and Perhaps Innovative Camera Designs

Some might argue not to fix what ain't broken, but then again, where's the fun in that? Whether or not these designs actually result in a camera that works better than those we have become accustomed to, I'm happy that there are some out there who just aren't satisfied with resting on the design laurels of others. Check out these five interesting, and perhaps really innovative, camera designs. Would you pick one up if you saw it on a shelf?

I've got to be honest, I'm not really sure I see the advantage of the first one below, nor am I sure how it works. But I applaud the idea nonetheless! Not really all that surprising, as the site where these were shown has the slogan "Form Beyond Function."

camera design needs to evolve, since they donot run on film anymore, dunno why major companies keep  insisting in designing their cameras like if they still have a canister and a film reel, so nowdays a camera can be any shape, you donot need both hands to operate one..simply hold and shoot

I think the main reason why they continue to have cameras in the same shape and design now is because you are then able to have interchangeable lenses, a larger battery, larger sensors, faster processors, and battery capabilities. also, none of the have a hotshoe... I can see the consumer market evolving, which it currently is, not this quickly though, however I think pro cameras could sacrifice the current design.

i like the ring flash one.

I second ZEEE.  On consumer camera I think ring flashes should be standard.  LED style might work.  Then again it would probably suck! :(
