Mirror Lake

2,280 feet from the start of my hike up Mt. Whitney Trail, at an elevation of 10,649 ft, I finally made it to Mirror lake. The snow was coming down hard, I was hungry, exhausted, and in awe of the mountains surrounding me. I sat by the lakes shore and enjoyed my lunch as a layer of snow covered me and my gear. A brave chipmunk tried to sneak up on me for some food, but I shoed it up a tree. I probably would have stayed longer, but the snow was really coming down and I didn't want to loose sight of the trail, so I started my descent back down the mountain.
