As I left the hotel that early morning I saw a lot of stars and thought it would be a rather boring sky by Sparks Lake, Oregon.
As I set up my gear I noticed clouds moving in and started shooting blue hour. As light appeared and started hitting the clouds they started going from purple pink to flaming oranges and reds. It was just an amazing display by nature that day. It went on and on, so I started doing long exposures with my ND little stopper. So glad I got up around 4 am that day, it was my 2016's best sunrise for sure.
