Wise Man

As I was walking through the streets of a suburban location in Ecuador, I couldn't help myself but stare at this old man. His eyes, his hands, the body position, and his deep breathing, all makes me wonder what kind of a life he must've lived through. Not being able to speak their language prevented me from knowing his story, but that did not stop me from asking to take a photograph of him with my broken Spanish. "por favor, foto?" as I point to my camera (I probably sounded more like "poor favor, photo?"). Hesitated at first, he agreed to let me make a photograph of him, and this is still easily my all time favorite photograph.
