Winter at Valley View

My first visit to Yosemite National Park was full of surprises. Till the day I was to reach the park forecast was snow and rain and gloomy. I expected it to be worse but surprisingly forecasts were wrong and I wasn’t able to capture the snow covered rocks. Instead it’s the winter foliage foreground and some snow dust at higher elevation. Good thing at sunrise the cloud opened up a bit focusing the nice light I was hoping for. After all these years looking at photographs of this location it does not disappoint to go in person and see for yourself.

Image was shot on Christmas morning and i used 23mm lens on super full frame camera and stitched 4 images together from the pano. Reason for panorama is to get the clean image of the foreground leaves and rocks without distortion.

Have a good year everyone and may the light be with you all.
